Engaged: Annie and Kai

Annie and Kai are two special people in our lives. You see, Annie and my husband are cousins! Annie and Kai have always been there for us (celebrating with us as we got married, as our kids celebrated their bdays and baptism, etc...). I was more than ecstatic when they announced their engagement earlier this year and was even more honored when they allowed me to photograph their engagement pictures. They are probably one of the most easy-going, laid back couple I know.

Love Story: Annie and Kai met six years ago while attending UC Santa Cruz. Fate brought them together in economy class. It was only a matter of time that Annie realized that Kai's persistent offering to study together was just his way of getting to know her! They became exclusive after two months and has been together ever since. Annie and Kai will be getting married in front of their family and friends next May 2010 at the beautiful Vizcaya in Sacramento, Ca. I can't wait!

These photos were taken earlier this May (yes, this post is LONG overdue).

The session started around Capitol Park.

I love how they were so giggly throughout the entire session.

I love their smiles!

Annie is a wonderful middle school teacher so I had to incorporate the school museum in Old Sac into the session.

Congratulations Annie and Kai! We're so happy for the both you. I know your lives will be filled with an abundance of laughter and beautiful memories.

Giddy

Geez, has it been THAT long since I've blogged??? Bad, bad, bad. Since I'm on early maternity leave (yes, we're prego w/ #3!!!) and I seem to be suffering from insomnia as of late, I'm gonna bloggity blog to my little heart's content. I guess I can start by blogging the time I got giddy hehe.

Me: Guess who's coming to Sacramento??? (excitedly)
Tou: Brad Pitt?
Me: Oh c'mon. What do I get excited about? (sorry, Brad Pitt, no offense)
Tou: Photography? Um, Jasmine Star?
Me: YES!!!!

Jasmine Star is a wedding photographer from the OC. Her images are beautiful, heartfelt and real. She's also a brilliant writer and has used her blog to successfully market herself. She's only one of few people whose blogs I follow on a routine basis. Fortunately for me, PPSV (Professional Photographers of Sacramento Valley) invited J* to speak at one of their monthly meetings. Seriously, I felt like a little girl on Christmas. I couldn't believe how giddy I was! J* was just as personable in real life as she is in her blog... sincere, open and hilarious! I laughed, cried and most importantly was inspired. What inspires me the most was her courage to follow her passion in life. She left a promising career in law and followed her heart and now she's doing what she loves! I'm so happy that I've been able to find my passion in life but sometimes my self-doubt and lack of confidence hinders me from reaching my full potential and having someone like J* to draw inspiration from motivates me to be myself and follow my heart. Cause isn't that what life is all about? Thank you J* for being my inspiration. (sorry, pregnancy can cause me to be a bit emotional LOL).

The fabulous Jasmine Star. Wish I was as fashion saavy as she.

Taken by Kira Lauren Photography . I told you I was giddy!!!! She even patted my belly LOL
