Project: Birdhouse

Madi painted her first birdhouse yesterday in her favorite color, green. After it was nice and dry, she insisted to wait for the birds in the hot sun.

Teeth and Teething

Ah, finally a chance to blog (pardon the dust in here). So I FINALLY decided to take Madi to her first dental visit. Having had multiple dental visits in the past (call me a pro), I was more nervous than Madi. She, on the other hand, was truly excited to go. I mean who can blame her? The dental office welcomed her w/ bright colored walls, orange retro chairs, video games, toys galore and a tv mounted on the ceiling. I'm sure she had mistaken it for a playground. They did a quick xray and cleaning which went SMOOTHLY! Unfortunately it turned out that Madi has 4 cavities. I felt awful. We'll be going for three more appointments to fix the cavities =(

Here's Madi showing off her "princess teeth". She did exceptionally well!

And speaking of teeth, look who's teething!

Mason's 1st tooth finally showed up around 10 months and man, is he ready to chow down!

The Little Things

"Enjoy the little things, for ond day you may look back and realize they were the big things." -Robert Brault

This picture was taken recently as I was practicing with my new camera that my hubby so kindly gave me. I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately and this picture always reminds me to slow down, breathe and enjoy every little moment.

Family Portraits: Take One

I've been so busy at work and trying to tackle on my never-ending list of "things to do" that my poor journal has been seriously neglected. Besides, it's a new year and we have a new president! I vow to post more often hehe. One of my passions in life is photography. I love capturing images! I've always enjoyed photography but really got into it when I purchased my first digital SLR camera in 2005 as I anticipated the birth of my daughter. I've learned so much since. I'm always looking for a photo opportunity to help build my confidence/experience so when my friend, Carrie, asked if I would take photos of her family, I enthusiastically agreed. I was quite nervous as I usually take pictures of my family and kids and this would be my first official family portrait session. Carrie just recently moved into this cute house and lucky for me, it had beautiful lighting. It also helped that my subjects are so beautiful! Here are a few of my faves:

The beautiful family, 3 generations

Aydin with his grandma. He's the first grandchild!

Aydin with his proud Auntie Carrie

Aydin with his beautiful mommy, Anney

I was trying to make use of the props in the house so I got Aydin on this little elephant rocker. I always have a thing for red doors and I love the color of Anney's dress against the red door.

This is my favorite from the session. It was a candid shot taken shortly after Aydin decided to make his mark on my newly purchased white rug! Good timing Aydin LOL

What a cutie!

Carrie mentioned that Aydin's curved 4th toe is reminiscent of their grandfather's finger who passed away recently.

He was so well-behaved during the entire session. He deserved this much needed nap!

I learned a lot from this session. I made use of available lighting, added props to certain shots and was able to practice posing group shots. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and looking forward to the next photo op!

What the Fugg?

In my attempt to be fashionable, I recently decided to purchase some Fuggs (my hubby's niece description of generic version of Uggs). I got a pair of Fuggs from Aeropostale for 50% off, SCORE! I was feeling and looking good until last Friday when our area had some sprinkle of shower. As I was walking over the wet grass towards my car, I suddenly found myself on the grass. Turns out my Fuggs do not have the rubber treads on its sole. So though I may be looking good, I'm also walking cautiously. There goes my attempt in trying to be fashion forward.

RinontheRox Rocks!

I secretly wish I would make it to American Idol one day. Heck, I'd be happy if I could carry a tune! My brother sent me a YouTube link to these two gals, Erin and Roxanne (aka RinontheRox). Yes, they get dressed up and sing in a bathroom but their voices are beautiful! There's so much talent out there. Check them out! BTW, I think the gal on the right looks a little bit like Paula Abdul =)

Halloween 2008

I know I'm a little late but better late then never. I was really excited planning what Halloween costumes the kids will wear this year. Besides, it was first time dressing two kids and the thought of having a themed costume amused me. So without further ado, here are my two wonderful children. Madi, 3, as the monkey and Mason, 3 months, as the banana!
I didn't know who had more fun the kids or my hubby (he almost lost his voice trying to scare the trick-or-treaters).
